What these sessions are about
Simply put, it’s people getting together to hear good news – wonderful news – about God’s way of saving people. Saved from what? Who needs saving? When, where, and how? These sessions provide you with straightforward answers based on the central theme of the sacred writings—the Bible.
Lasting one hour, an evening session will typically include messages from two speakers in a lecture format. Several songs may be sung as they relate to these messages. There are no requests for money and no requests for public interaction as this is not a fund raiser or a membership drive.
The people who convene these meetings – and who may have passed along an invitation to you – are deeply committed to sharing the Bible message with others. They themselves have found the message to be life changing. So if you’ve received an invitation to attend, it’s because they care. And more importantly, God cares. Invest an hour of your time with an open mind and we’re confident that it will be time well spent.
Jesus said: “I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
John 8:12
The speakers at these sessions
Peter Ramsay
Summerside, PEI
Peter Ramsay is involved in the spread of the Gospel and assists local churches in Canada and USA in efforts to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Peter grew up on Prince Edward Island and continues to make PEI his home base. Peter has enjoyed a personal relationship with Christ for many years. He loves to speak of the moment he trusted Christ as his personal Saviour, when the burden of his sin was lifted and he found peace with God through the Lord Jesus. Professionally, he was active provincially and nationally in hospital, health and social services administration. He served on various volunteer and professional boards at the provincial and national levels. During that time, he also remained active with various ministries associated with the local church in Charlottetown, including youth work, pastoral care and outreach work. In 1998, Peter left his secular career to devote his time and energy to Gospel ministry. He maintains a website and a blog, participates in youth work, preaches the Gospel and is involved in other community outreaches and street work. Peter and his wife Joy reside in Summerside, PEI where their three children were raised.
Ken Taylor
Ottawa, Ontario
Ken was raised with a liberal church background and did not learn his need of being born again until late in his nineteenth year. A pathway of searching brought him into contact with a small evangelical mission group in western Canada. The faithful witness of the believers and the truth of Scripture that he learned through their godly interest led him to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. His spiritual interest since conversion has involved him in local church testimony, Sunday school and young people’s work, gospel preaching and Bible teaching.
Ken was employed as an accountant and office manager when commended full time to the work of the Lord. In November 1976, Ken, his wife Doris, and four children moved to Dominica, West Indies where they served as missionaries. From 1985 to 2010 they made their home in the Maritime provinces and continued their active involvement in the many aspects of assembly testimony, evangelism, and a Bible teaching ministry. During this period Ken and Doris made frequent visits to Dominica and more recently have participated in gospel outreach and humanitarian assistance in Haiti. They now make their home in Kanata.
